Our dental team is highly experienced and treats patients with state-of-the-art technology in a warm and welcoming environment. Dr. Garvin and the team provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages, from cosmetic dentistry to tooth decay prevention.
About Dr. Katie M. Garvin, D.M.D.
Dr. Katie M. Garvin is originally from Fort Valley, about 25 miles southwest of Macon. After graduating from Peach County High School in 1999, she attended Furman University in Greenville, SC, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Exercise Science. Upon graduation from undergrad, she attended the Medical College of Georgia, School of Dentistry in Augusta (currently the Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University).
Immediately upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Garvin began working as an associate at her father's dental practice in Fort Valley, where she practiced until joining Macon Smiles. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Central District Dental Society. Dr. Garvin has also been inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honorary dental society that recognizes dentists for outstanding leadership and contributions to the practice of dentistry.
Dr. Katie Garvin is married to fellow dentist Dr. Cameron Garvin, a native of Cochran, GA. They have three children: two boys, Reese and Calder and a daughter, Mathews Monroe, all who attend First Presbyterian Day School. She is also a very active member of First Presbyterian Church Macon. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Garvin is an avid reader, loves to play tennis, and enjoys hanging out with her family and friends. She loves all things red and black and will be found cheering on the FPD Vikings on Fridays and the UGA Bulldogs on Saturdays in the Fall.

Dr. Sheila K. Shah has dedicated 30 remarkable years to caring for our patients and shaping the heart of our practice. Her compassion, skill, and unwavering commitment to creating healthy, confident smiles have left a lasting impact on our team and community. While we are saddened to see her leave the practice, we are thrilled for her next adventure in Texas! We are deeply grateful for the legacy she leaves behind. In recognition of her extraordinary contributions, we proudly honor her as Emeritus, knowing her influence will continue to inspire us for years to come
